Prof. Tom LUO Zhengtang, Chemical and Biological Engineering, was elected a Fellow of the Royal Society of Chemistry (RSC). The honor is conferred to individuals who have made major contributions to chemistry and other interface disciplines such as biological chemistry. 

Prof. Luo’s research focuses on the chemistry of graphene and two-dimensional (2D) materials, and applications of 2D materials in fields such as biomedical engineering, energy storage and conversion, electronics and optoelectronics. He also serves as an associate editor for ACS Applied Materials & Interfaces, a flagship journal of the American Chemical Society (ACS).

Founded in 1841, RSC is a world-leading chemistry society based in the United Kingdom and is the largest organization in Europe for advancing chemical sciences. Its membership totals over 50,000 worldwide.
