New RPG Housing Policy
All 1st and 2nd year RPg students*, including local and non-local student, who apply for housing will be assigned a bed space by Student Housing and Residential Life Office (SHRLO). Remaining bed spaces will be allocated to schools (pro-rated by their in-time RPg numbers). Each school will have their own policy to distribute the quota of bed spaces.
* 1st & 2nd year of student’s RPg career at HKUST (e.g., PhD student who completes 2 years MPhil will be considered as a 3rd year student for housing when starting PhD)
Allocated quota from SHRLO will be first given to the students who are in their 3rd year studies at HKUST. If the available quota is smaller than the number of 3rd year applicants, a lucky draw will be conducted to rank the priority. Another lucky draw for the rest of the applicants will be held to determine the waiting list according to the year priority. All lucky draw will be conducted by School Office in public sessions.
Other Housing Options
SHRLO provides off-campus housing information and services at Off-campus Housing Section (located on G/F, UG Hall II).
