The International Internship program aims at providing opportunities for Internship student from overseas countries including China to gain hands-on research experience from top-notch scholars using the state-of-the-art facilities at HKUST for a minimum period of 2 months to a maximum of 6 months.
Student admitted as international intern is required to take a one-credit research project course and the course fee of HK$1,754/credit will be paid by the student.
Each successful International Internship student will normally receive a stipend at around HK$10,000-12,000 (~US$1,300-1,500) per month to cover living cost (subject to agreement with faculty).
Applicant applying to be an International Intern at HKUST should:
be registered as undergraduate senior year student or Research Postgraduate student at a recognized tertiary institution outside Hong Kong; and
have an educational background deemed satisfactory by the host department at HKUST which is willing to admit him/her as an International Intern; and
have gained an approval from the home institution to register at HKUST as an Internship student
International Interns will take a research project course under the supervision of HKUST faculty.
