Small antennas, MIMO antennas, MIMO measurement, and energy harvesting.


Frankie Chi-Yuk Chiu (M'05-SM'12) received both the BEng and the MEng degrees, and the PhD degree in Electronic Engineering from the City University of Hong Kong, in 2001 and 2005, respectively. He joined the Department of Electronic and Computer Engineering (ECE), Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST) as a Research Associate in 2005. Then, he worked at Sony Mobile Communications as a Senior Antenna Engineer in 2011. Since 2015, he has been at HKUST again where he is currently Research Assistant Professor at the Department of ECE. Dr. Chiu has published over 40 papers, 1 book chapter and holds 5 patents (2 pending) related to antenna technology. His main research interests include the design and analysis of small antennas, MIMO antennas, MIMO measurements and energy harvesting. He is a Senior Member of IEEE and a Corporate Member of HKIE.
