The Robocon sub-team of the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST) Robotics Team scooped the championship in the 2018 Robocon Hong Kong Contest, marking their ninth win since the competition was launched in 2004.
The School of Engineering (SENG) had the pleasure of hosting 67 top engineering students at bachelor’s or master’s level who demonstrate outstanding academic performance, research potential, and communication skills at the Summer Camp for Elite Students at HKUST on July 15-21, 2018. The students came from 13 different countries.
Forty-one students from five local secondary schools recently spent an unforgettable four days learning about electric vehicles (EV) and actually building and driving them! This was made possible through the four-day EV Summer Program co-organized by the Academy for Bright Future Young Engineers of the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST) and CLP Holdings Limited (CLP). The Academy is funded by a donation from the Bright Future Charitable Foundation, which is founded and chaired by Prof Roy Chung.
Over 300 alumni, faculty and staff from both Hong Kong and the Mainland joined the HKUST School of Engineering (SENG) Alumni Day in Shenzhen on July 7, 2018 (Saturday). At the presentation ceremony for the Hong Kong ICT Awards on April 4, 2018, which aim to promote innovation in Information and Communications Technology (ICT), HKSAR Chief Executive Mrs Carrie Lam presented the Award of the Year to Belun Technology, the company that developed the BelunTM Ring – a globally unique device for obstructive sleep apnea pre-screening, risk analysis and post-treatment effectiveness evaluation.
