All engineering programs are accredited by Hong Kong Institution of Engineers (HKIE) under the Outcome-based accreditation criteria. The courses covered in the program curriculum were mapped to the program outcomes in terms of three areas of contribution: Taught, Practiced and Measured. In the accreditation visit by HKIE in Oct 2013, the Visiting Team has offered advices and comments on the plans and the schedule of measurement. The Programs will collect course data and review the program outcome achievement in a continuous manner. An appropriate mix of direct and indirect assessment methods is considered and implemented for all outcomes.
Apart from HKIE, the E2QAC formed at the School level will monitor the program outcome measurement and review the progress of OBE implementation in departments.
Besides, the School takes the initiative to align the format of reporting at the Departmental QA Annual Report with the OBE implementation and Program Outcome measurement. By so doing, the Departments can make use of the QA Annual Reporting exercise to review and document the progress of data collection and program outcome measurement every year. The QA Annual Report will also be forwarded to the Committee for Teaching and Learning Quality for comment.
