Biography

Biography

Prof. Yi CAI received his B.Eng. degree in Mechatronics Engineering from South China University of Technology in 2009, M.Phil. degree in Industrial and Manufacturing Systems Engineering from the University of Hong Kong in 2011, and Ph.D. degree in Industrial and Systems Engineering from North Carolina State University in 2017. He worked as Assistant Professor in the Department of Applied Engineering Technology at North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University in the United States before joining the Smart Manufacturing Thrust, Systems Hub, The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (Guangzhou) as Assistant Professor in 2021.

His research interest focuses on Additive Manufacturing, Digital and Smart Manufacturing, and Virtual/Augmented Reality for STEM education.
